Vincent Alexander presented his wife, Manda, with one such thoughtful anniversary present. 

Alexander got his brother to pose as a creepy clown behind the couple on the day of their wedding, unbeknownst to his smiling wife. He kept the secret for a year, before presenting the nicely framed photograph to Manda.

In a heartwarming video, NBC and the cast of the new show Rise revealed the recipients of NBC's R.I.S.E. America Project grant program for high school theater programs around the country.

The video above shows a few of the submission videos from the 50 high schools that received $10,000 each from R.I.S.E. America Project – including Mariposa County High School, which was heavily affected by the California fires that ravaged the state in 2017. The grant program was inspired by NBC's new drama Rise and falls within National Theatre in Our Schools month.

Auli’i Cravalho (Lilette) and Damon J. Gillespie (Robbie) told the winning high schools that they were selected for the grant, leading to some emotional responses from students and teachers in the theatre programs.  Read more...

A black child is 10 times more likely to be the victim of gun violence than a white child. So says a 2017 report issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

An 11-year-old elementary school student named Naomi Wadler spoke on this very subject on Saturday. Addressing the massive crowd gathered in Washington, D.C. to attend the March For Our Lives demonstration, Ms. Wadler spoke passionately about an issue that gets too little attention.
