Zafar the dolphin just wanted to find love. And maybe a quick hook up. 

The sexually frustrated dolphin has been wreaking havoc in Landévennec, Brittany, a seaside town in the north of France. The town had to ban swimming because the dolphin, who locals nicknamed Zafar, wouldn't stop rubbing up on boats and innocent beachgoers. According to the Telegraph, Zafar even "used its nose to push one woman out of the water and up into the air."

The playful dolphin used to delight locals and tourists alike by cruising alongside boats and letting swimmers hold onto his dorsal fin for a ride.  Read more...

The last three Julys on Earth have been the three warmest ever recorded. But, they may also be the warmest months to occur on our planet in about 120,000 years.

Following NASA's recent announcement that July 2018 was the third warmest such month since reliable record keeping began in 1880, climate scientist Stefan Rahmstorf, head of Earth System Analysis at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, pointed out that this last July — already infamous for scorching Arctic temperatures and record-breaking heat waves — was also likely one of the warmest months since the geologic period called the Eemian.  Read more...

Donald Trump has officially proven you do not need to understand speakerphone to become President of the United States.

In fact, on Monday Trump demonstrated this fact on live television ahead of his call with Mexico president, Enrique Peña Nieto.

In the moments leading up to the call, Trump struggled to figure out how the heck the phone works, which wound up being a painfully awkward sight worthy of the Veep closing credit treatment.

Here's the original moment, in which a perplexed Trump is seen pushing buttons on the telephone in the Oval Office and saying "Enrique" and "hello?" into the void. Finally he asks for some assistance, or rather demands, "be helpful," to a White House aide. Read more...

In early August, police officers attempted to lure Chicagoans into arrest with a "bait truck" filled with shoes and goods left abandoned in the neighborhood of Englewood. After video of officers arresting a man went viral, community members expressed outrage at the set-up tactics — and Chicago's own Vic Mensa stepped up, too. 

On Sunday, the musician's foundation Save Money Save Life hosted an "anti-bait truck" giveaway, handing out truck-loads of shoes to members of the Englewood community. 

"To see the police escort a bait truck full of shoes through a low-income neighborhood where people can't afford basic necessities, it seemed very representative of how ill-equipped they are to deal with the city's issues," Mensa said in an interview with the New York Times. Read more...

A high school band had the most unexpected cover of Heart's iconic anthem.

Nick, the lead vocalist for Nick and the Groove, walked on stage in an unassuming turquoise button-down shirt. Then, he blew away the internet with his incredible pipes. 

The band of 15 to 18-year-old high schoolers has been performing at local bars and restaurants around their native Houston all summer. Although their live audience seems pretty chill watching the kids nail the "Barracuda" cover, Reddit was amazed. 

"Damn who put this band together, Jack Black?" u/ToiletPudding asked.

In the first 30 seconds, Nick crushed the opening bars, flawlessly hitting every note. Erich, the guitar player, performed what one Redditor called a "clean af" guitar solo.  Read more...
